Understanding Electrolysed Water
Creating electrolysed water is a combination of simple science and household ingredients. Simply add salt to water (vinegar is also recommended to balance the pH of SA water) and your Evo Home will use an electric current to rearrange the chemical composition of the solution into two powerful new compounds.

A: Yes. The active molecule is hypochlorous acid (HOCl) which is a powerful oxidant that is also completely safe and natural. Q: Do I need to buy anything else to make it work?
No. You don’t need anything other than tap water, salt and vinegar. Your EVO Home box includes a starter container of refined salt. Adding vinegar is required to lower the pH of South African water. For your convenience you can choose to purchase a bottle of EVO Home Activation Solution which is a premixed solution (500ml) of salt and vinegar for ease of use. To make 1 litre of electrolysed water you will use 10ml of Activation Solution, so one 500ml bottle will make 500 litres.
Q: Does it have a scent?
A: There is a mild ‘swimming pool’ scent that is created during the electrolysis process. The scent is from the active ingredient, hypochlorous acid. Some people also notice a slight vinegar smell as they spray the solution, but this dissipates in minutes.
Q: What is the shelf life?
A: The shelf life of electrolysed water once it has been created and bottled is 7-14 days. After that it will return to salt water. In a closed container, such as the EVO Mist spray bottle, the concentration of hypochlorous acid decreases at about 1% per day if stored at room temperature and protected from UV light.

A: You can use it to clean virtually any surface, to disinfect virtually any surface and to deodorize and remove odours.
You can clean your kitchen and bathroom (glass, grout, tile, porcelain), counter tops (stainless steel, sealed stone like granite, marble and quartz) and floors including wood and laminate. You can clean and disinfect plastic and rubber items such as cutting boards, plastic toys, pet toys, high chairs and prams/strollers. You can deodorize bins, pet bedding, sports gear and nappy bins, and clean colourfast items such as rugs and car seats (always test first for colour fastness in an inconspicuous spot).
For very dirty areas that have a build-up of residue you may need to use a mild abrasive for initial cleaning.
